Education Never Ends...

Christian education programs will be in full swing in most churches.  Pastors, Christian education leaders, and teachers are always delighted to see full classrooms of children learning about Christ, faith and the Christian way.  Many parents make sure their kids get to Sunday school class, yet don’t attend a class themselves.

Learning about Christ is a lifelong pursuit.  It doesn’t end when we grow up.  If we are to love God with our minds as well as our hearts, our souls and our strength, we should keep learning even into old age.

We need to be well informed about our faith, our church and its beliefs so that we can express to non-Christians what Christianity is.

We love God with our minds when we know the Bible, when we understand what we believe and when we are able to tell others the reason for the faith we embrace.  See you in Sunday School!

Recent Activities

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  I hope you’ve had a blessed and meaningful summer.  I can’t believe it’s already over!  My summer ended with a huge blessing as I took part in the Sunday School Leadership Appreciation Dinner that was held on August 10.  About 90 people came out for a ‘rootin – tootin’ good time as we had a western round-up.  The dinner was held in honor of all the hard work your Sunday School leaders did for our Lord this past year.  There were division directors, teachers, assistant teachers and outreach and inreach leaders there.  Many spouses also attended.

Guest arrived to the sounds of cowboy music and fellowship around the corral with other cowpokes, then it was off to the chuck wagon for a wonderful steak dinner and delicious dessert.  Following dinner all of the buckaroos gathered into their respective Sunday School divisions to go on a digital camera scavenger hunt.  All the groups had a great time taking pictures of the fun things they had to do, such as milk a cow, lasso something, stage a gunfight, kiss a horse or sing “Home on the Range” to a church member at their home.  It was a time of fun-filled fellowship and team building.  I hope you enjoy some of the pictures that were taken!  Many thanks go to Mary Lutz, Cheryl Chadwick, Kathy Rector, Doug Atkins, Wayne Pase and Richard Gray for helping to make it a success.  To see some photos from the good time we had, click here.

The new Sunday School year is about to begin, so please be in prayer for your leaders as they strive to make our Sunday School the best it can be.  If you would like to be a leader in Sunday School, please talk with me or one the division directors to see how you can get involved (Mary Lutz – Preschool, Cheryl Chadwick – Elementary, Mike Cauthorne – Middle & High School, Chris Lassiter – Adults).

Jeff Chadwick, Minister of Education & Administration
